Debbie is the mother of 7 children, 5 of whom are still living at home. They range in age from 5-23, and 3 of them have Down syndrome (two are adopted.) She and her husband Bill live with their children on the Northern Oregon Coast.

When Debbie was younger, she wrote for 2 northern California newspapers. She was the sports editor for one, and wrote special interest articles for the other. She also had her own column entitled Deb's Predictions, where she meticulously predicted the outcomes of National Football League games...with an 85% accuracy rate! Currently she is a stay-at-home-mother, wife, freelance writer, and President of the North Coast Down Syndrome Network.

This is her first book, which she wrote in an effort to educate others about what it truly means to have a child with Down syndrome. She hopes to dispel outdated ideas and misconceptions by introducing her beautiful daughter to the world.
